Aiken Gun-Range Burglar Caught After Bragging on Facebook

An Aiken man might have got away with a break-in at the Aiken County Gun Range if he hadn’t bragged about the crime on Facebook.

Joseph Dube, of Horseshoe Bend Road, Aiken, was charged Friday with grand larceny, body armor possession of a violent offender and burglary.

On the day after Christmas, an officer at the gun range discovered the door to the shed kicked in. There was a sandy footprint near the door knob and a damaged door frame. Officers couldn’t find much evidence to process.

But they didn’t need any! A week later, someone notified officers that Dube was posting on Facebook that he had entered the wood shed at the gun range and removed five Narcotics vests.
