A man is wanted for questioning after dropping off the body of a dead woman at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta and then fleeing the scene.
Michael Lee Harrelson, 47, is being sought in connection with an ongoing death investigation of 41-year-old Selena Johnson.
The Coroner’s Office responded to Doctors Hospital ER Monday night in reference to a suspicious death. Johnson, of Hephzibah, was taken to the ER by the suspect. After Johnson was removed from the vehicle at the ER, the driver of the vehicle fled the ER without providing any information., Coroner Mark Bowen said. Johnson was identified through fingerprints at the ER.
Investigators say Harrelson brought the deceased woman to the hospital Monday night and left shortly afterward. Johnson was pronounced deceased by a doctor at approximately 10:50 p.m. Monday. An autopsy is pending, and authorities say they are not yet sure where the woman came from. No visible marks or bruises were observed on her body.
Harrelson is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 153 pounds, with a bald head and brown eyes. He also has active warrants through this agency related to unrelated cases.
