Here’s your first look at the subcontractor charged with murder in Friday’s shooting death of county worker Raymond Lee at a Columbia County wastewater treatment plant.
Thomas Bradford, 43, got into an argument with the 37-year-old victim about 1:45 p.m. Friday, retrieved a gun from his truck and then shot Lee after a struggle, authorities said.
The suspect was a contracted truck driver with Hudsons Grassing Company Inc., and he was hauling waste from the Martinez site, officials said. That’s where the dispute occurred with the veteran county employee. Lee, of Grovetown, was shot in the chest and was rushed to MCG, where he later died.
Bradford is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and he is being held without bond in the Columbia County Jail.
The slaying marks Columbia County’s third murder of the year.
