Three armed robbery suspects picked the wrong Martinez man to mess with early Wednesday.

They robbed a 43-year-old man at his apartment at gunpoint and then stole his car about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, a report states. But the victim, a FedEx driver, quickly borrowed a neighbor’s car and followed the suspects as they left the complex and drove to Richmond County in his stolen car, a sheriff’s report states.

The victim followed the trio to Butler Creek Trailer Park and then ran over to the Regional Youth Detention Center and asked a security officer to call the sheriff’s office. Officers soon captured the suspects, identified as, from left, Quaderro Hooper, 19; Sierra Burns, 17; and Christopher Jones, 25.

They were all transferred to Columbia County and charged with armed robbery. The victim told police he knew the female suspect for a month and she apparently set him up to be robbed.
