The victims, both 21 years old, went to a location on Wheeler Road at First Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Sunday and were sitting in their car when the two robbers pulled them out of the vehicle and robbed them of $5,500 brought to purchase the car as well as a wallet and an expensive cell phone. When the victims resisted, they were either threatened with a gun or struck with a weapon, a report states. Griffin, 20, of Hephzibah, was charged Monday with two counts of armed robbery.
Michael Henderson
Aiken County authorities have arrested a yard man in the death of 72-year-old Howard Goode, whose body was found in his bed by his caregiver at lunchtime Thursday at 450 Cherokee Drive in Clearwater.
In a story first reported by The Jail Report, 38-year-old Michael Henderson, 38, of North Augusta, is being held on murder and armed robbery charges.
The suspect worked for the victim as a yard man, and the motive was believed to be robbery, sheriff’s Capt. Troy Elwell said. He said the sheriff’s office is waiting on autopsy results today before discussing how the victim was killed.
Coroner Tim Carlton said the victim appears to have suffered injuries “not consistent with a natural death” and the caregiver told investigators the victim “did not look right” when she found him, a report states.
Henderson was arrested by the sheriff’s office Thursday morning at about 3 a.m. for an unrelated armed robbery, which occurred at the Ashley Motel at 4874 Jefferson Davis Highway. According to the clerk, Henderson entered the Ashley Motel at approximately 2:45 am armed with two handguns and demanded money. During the robbery Henderson made a statement to the clerk the he had already killed one person.
Deputy’s arrived on the scene, confronted Henderson and took him into custody without incident. Henderson would not provide any further information about his statement to the clerk, when questioned by officers.
Henderson is a repeat offender with previous charges for cocaine possession, burglary and assault. Here are his current charges:

She’s been charged with breach of trust by Burnettown Police. Gresham, 38, of Warrenville, was arrested after the money was discovered missing from the PTO funds.
Contacted today by The Jail Report, Gresham broke down in tears and said, “I am just truly sorry for what I did.” She declined to discuss the case further and said she had just got home and had not even had a chance to see her children.
Barth Josey, Phillip Smith
Richmond County authorities arrested a supervisor of a general contracting company as well as an employee after a violent fight Monday between the two.
Phillip Smith, a supervisor at Southeastern Field Services on Milledgeville Road, was arrested for simple battery after both visited MCG for serious injuries.
Employee Barth Josey, left, was also arrested on the same charge. Smith told authorities that Josey came to work Monday morning and appeared under the influence of drugs. Smith, 36, told his brother to send Josey home, which outraged Josey and led him to strike Smith in the head.
Smith told investigators that Josey reached for a knife, but Smith struck him in the left hand with a golf club before he could use it.
In addition to other injuries, Smith required six stitches to the head, and Josey suffered a broken arm. Smith tells The Jail Report that he will be arguing self defense in court.
Quaderro Hooper, Sierra Burns, Christopher Jone
Three armed robbery suspects picked the wrong Martinez man to mess with early Wednesday.
They robbed a 43-year-old man at his apartment at gunpoint and then stole his car about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, a report states. But the victim, a FedEx driver, quickly borrowed a neighbor’s car and followed the suspects as they left the complex and drove to Richmond County in his stolen car, a sheriff’s report states.
The victim followed the trio to Butler Creek Trailer Park and then ran over to the Regional Youth Detention Center and asked a security officer to call the sheriff’s office. Officers soon captured the suspects, identified as, from left, Quaderro Hooper, 19; Sierra Burns, 17; and Christopher Jones, 25.
They were all transferred to Columbia County and charged with armed robbery. The victim told police he knew the female suspect for a month and she apparently set him up to be robbed.
Henry Ragland
A middle-aged Martinez man has been charged with terroristic threats after allegedly running into I-HOP on Saturday afternoon, throwing white powder and claiming it was “Anthrax.”
Henry Terry Ragland, 46, was arrested shortly after the scare at the restaurant on 2525 Washington Road in Augusta, which is located across from Augusta National Golf Club. Employee Jessica Hammond saw the suspect open the doors to the business and throw in the powder about 2:18 p.m. Saturday. She asked the suspect what it was, and he replied “Anthrax” and left the restaurant, a report states.
Soon after, a person with the suspect admitted it was just flour, and the restaurant was not evacuated, according to Jessica. She told The Jail Report that they eventually discovered the prank was part of a “Hashing Party.”
One online source describes hashing parties as loosely-associated running groups that mix running with social drinking. A “Hash Run” usually consists of running a trail that is not disclosed ahead of time, but rather is marked by some means by a member of the group, such as flour.
Cops did not find it funny, though, charging Ragland with terrorist threats & acts, a felony. He was booked into the Richmond County Jail.
Alexander Dombrowski
A suicidal Augusta man who was captured with the use of a bean bag gun has been released from the hospital and arrested for felony obstruction of an officer.
Alexander Dombrowski, 61, was arrested Thursday in connection with the March 13th incident at his home on Wellington Drive.
Richmond County deputies were called by the man’s son, and officers found him drunk in the back yard holding a fillet knife and threatening to stab himself in the abdomen, according to a report. He ordered deputies to leave the area and then begin threatening to charge a deputy with his knife. Finally, a sheriff’s sergeant arrived with the bean bag gun and fired it at Dombrowski and then wrestled the man to the ground.
Still, Dombrowski did not drop his knife and a deputy used a ASP baton on the man’s left hand to get him to drop it, a report states. The man was then taken to MCG for treatment.
Officers found beer and vodka near the man, who was clearly under the influence, a report states.
Twila Renee Foster
A Hephzibah woman is the latest mother to leave children unattended in a parking lot. Authorities say 27-year-old Twila Renee Foster went inside the Walmart on Deans Bridge Road on Saturday to “get her hair done.” A deputy was called to the parking lot about 5:45 p.m. because three boys, ages 2, 6 and 9, were left alone inside a car. The deputy observed the key in the ignition and the windows down. The tipster said she saw the kids alone at 5:33 p.m., and the deputy waited until the mother returned at 6:05 p.m., a report states. DFACS was called and the boys were turned over to their father. Foster was arrested and charged with three counts of deprivation of a minor.
Thomas Bradford
Here’s your first look at the subcontractor charged with murder in Friday’s shooting death of county worker Raymond Lee at a Columbia County wastewater treatment plant.
Thomas Bradford, 43, got into an argument with the 37-year-old victim about 1:45 p.m. Friday, retrieved a gun from his truck and then shot Lee after a struggle, authorities said.
The suspect was a contracted truck driver with Hudsons Grassing Company Inc., and he was hauling waste from the Martinez site, officials said. That’s where the dispute occurred with the veteran county employee. Lee, of Grovetown, was shot in the chest and was rushed to MCG, where he later died.
Bradford is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and he is being held without bond in the Columbia County Jail.
The slaying marks Columbia County’s third murder of the year.
Angela Summers
Authorities have arrested 18-year-old Angela Summers for falsely claiming that she was raped – not once, not twice, but three times!
According to a sheriff’s report, the Augusta teen told investigators that she had met a man on the Internet and was caught having sex with him. Family members told her to stay away from the man, but she says hooked up with him March 22 at a local Bi-Lo and they walked to his home.
Angela claims the man then raped her and forced her to perform oral sex on him. After that, she says they walked to a basketball court to meet one of the man’s friends. Angela said that friend took her to his home and raped her and forced oral sex. After that, Angela says they left and met a third friend, who went to another home where the rape and oral sex occurred with him.
Angela says she had several showers before asking a family members to pick her up and take her to Doctor’s Hospital, where she told her story to investigators. Angela said she was left alone each time, but didn’t leave because she was “intimidated.”
Authorities investigated her reports and then arrested her Thursday for false report of a crime, a misdemeanor. They say Angela made up the stories because she was “looking for sympathy from her mom” after getting in trouble with her.
The teen’s been released on bond.
