Michael Bame, 41, of Augusta, was arrested Sunday for allegedly calling 911 and reporting that shots had been fired at his car. The caller claimed to be “Mr. Woods” and told officers to come to Dover Street, according to an incident report. A deputy rushed to the area, where several neighbors said they had not heard any gunfire. The deputy eventually found Bame on the 3200 block of Deans Bridge Road, where the man admitting making the false report. He remains in jail this morning under no bond, charged with filing a false report of a crime.
